Every one of you must have heard about the Sony Company. They are the electronics masters ruling the world. Wherever you see in your homes, you definitely will see a Sony product. And why not? When they are ruling the world when it comes to electronics, you are bound to see some Sony product or the other around you.
Have a look around; there definitely will be a Sony Trinitron, a VAIO computer, a PlayStation or a walkman. Even their sound systems are the best in the market. When they were in their heydays, the sound system that had cassettes playing had music blaring loud. They were a hit in the market. Almost everyone in those would have loved to possess a walkman. It was the most happening thing for a kid in the 90s to be having a walkman in hand.
The trend was not the sole reason why they were a hit. The music was loud and clear. It was very distinctly audible to all who owned it. I can jolly well understand the feeling that went on in people with such hip things in those days.
Then suddenly with the advent of CDs and DVDs, another round of excellence was viewed by the world. They just took movie watching to another level. The quality of the picture was something that one had to rave about for days to come. The clarity was just beyond excellence. From time to time Sony has given to the world pleasures that came in little packages.
With these CDs and DVDs, you must have had a hard time making your kids study sincerely, what with the distractions at the television table, all too strong to keep their eyes glued onto their books. Movies like Stuart Little and Men In Black had grabbed their attention.
What about the music that is played on CDs? They were just too good to be described. It must have been like waiting for something good to happen when it was break time with the music system full on. Sony has always played a demanding and captivating role when it came to its electronics. No one has ever been able to grab the market as far as their products were concerned.
Billie Holiday or Michael Jackson – the music wafting from their CDs was just mesmerizing. It took one’s breath away. Sony has captivated the world with its electronics for more than half a century and it still will go on in this way.
Among the many products that they have invented and released in the market, they have many firsts on that list. They have given to the world the first portable stereo, the first transistor radio, the first home video-game console that used three-dimensional graphics. What more could the world ask for? A lot has been given by them already. So many firsts from one company is a lot that can be received by the world.
The book is a reader’s delight. It throws light on the founders, Mr. Masaru Ibuka and Mr. Akio Morita. It speaks about their vision, aim, and the driving force that is taking them forward and helping them to give to the world much more. It is an inspiring story for entrepreneurs. It could help them move forward into the world with their version of their products.
The book gives a vivid description of Sony’s birth, coming of age and journey to become the world’s leading electronics manufacturer. The book is full of creativity, innovativeness, determination & grit, passion and positive energy. It speaks about the company’s future vision and how it continues to grow. It speaks about the company’s humble beginnings, gradually transforming into a global leader and manufacturing giant leading the world in electronics products. It discloses the fact that the company is worth the staggering US $ 50 billion employing approximately 1, 70,000 employees. What a huge figure to go by? It truly is amazing how they have become the bread and butter of so many people around the world.
But a sad fact remains true that the erstwhile Sony Company is grappling to come to terms with the changes that have taken place with the modern Broadband Age story. They still have not been able to come to terms with the current changes in the scenario.
The book is a reader’s delight on how the company is transcending barriers to always think beyond the traditional wisdom and take over the consumer’s imagination and always make them exclaim loudly in admiration of Sony products. Even with time, one can still hear the consumer say that nothing can replace a Sony product.
It is difficult to hear it from any other company. Sony has always been the consumer’s favourite and first choice whenever it is an electronics product. I can bet any customer would enter into a shop and ask for a Sony TV over any other company. It is a guarantee that will remain true to its words with Sony being the King of Electronics Products.
Fantastic review Deepak. Keep it up.
